The Summit County Jail opened in 1990, and an annex was added in 1995. The jail is operated by the Summit County Sheriff’s Office, and it has a capacity of 671 inmates.

Visits are done through video, either onsite or remotely. Each inmate is allowed one free 20-minute visit per week. Visits must be scheduled through ICSolutions at least 24 hours in advance. No more than two visitors are allowed to visit an inmate at once.
